New Job. New Routine

So, I have news.  As of last week, I started a new job.  It's an office job and it's definitely an adjustment for the family.  I'm still up early, but I'm the one getting ready instead of taking my sweet time waking up after the alarm.

I started a normal, 8 am - 5 pm job.  This is definitely an adjustment considering I was able to make my own schedule and do things on my time.  I think what I'm missing most is being at home with everyone and not having to rush or be so exhausted after 5 pm.  Personally, I'm dreading the holiday months because I loved being home.  R even misses me being home.

My job isn't hard, it's mostly being on the phone and computer, but I get paid well and I have medical benefits so I'm grateful.  The environment works too because the employees all mesh well.  I see this being long term, but it's still going to take time to work for me.  R and I have talked and ironically, he texts me today about this situation.

R: 'I got to admit, I hate you working.'

I did laugh because, I know he does.  He loves having me home, even more because he works from home.  I get that, and I miss being home with him too and when the kids are out of school.  We agreed, once he figures out his work situation regarding certain things, will depend on if I continue to work.  Then again, I need medical benefits, and I like to have my own income too so I can spend on the kids, him and myself.  The medical benefits are priority because I didn't have those before.  As a matter of fact, I haven't had those in more than a year and a half.

The kids are covered via their fathers' insurance, so I'm not worried on that level.  I did happen to look over mine, and it's the exact same everything as R's.

Personally, I wish I could get a hybrid or work from home job.  Then again, don't we all?  The job I'm doing now could most definitely be a work from home job.  Regardless, I'm enjoying it aside from being literally exhausted by the time I get home.  The drive isn't so bad either, it's less than 30 minutes.  I have my coffee items at the office, and I am given an hour lunch break to sleep, eat, whatever I want.  It works.

I don't plan on looking for anything else, because so far this is a good fit and when I feel comfortable pretty quickly in a position, then I know it's for me.  My last job was for me, but things have not worked out this year.  It didn't help that M said she'd help throw things my way, and I haven't heard a thing.  Open and broken promises.  What's funny is, no one but my village and parents know I have a new job.

So, here's to the end of the year, holidays and new jobs.  My goal is to have my vehicle paid off in less than 15 months at this rate!
