Birthday

I'm writing this the week before my birthday, because that's how I blog.  Next week it'll be another year on this earth, 10 years of being a mother and 3 years of being R's spouse.

It's funny, 10 years ago I was pregnant with little J and we almost ended up sharing the same birthday till I was put on bedrest.  Due to possible pre-eclampsia, it was on my birthday I'd be in bed till the baby was delivered.  It wasn't long, because a week and a half later my little boy was born.

3 years ago, I stayed overnight with my now sister-in-law, M, and it was the first birthday I'd celebrated with R.  All I can say is, thank God I took plenty of photos and videos because that weekend was blurry!  We'd gone out on the town and had one hell of a celebration.  The night before my birthday we pre-gamed, pre-birthday.

So many laughs, drinks, shots, memories and photos came with that night.  It was a soft spot with me and R, due to certain things that had gone on.  Also, he was out of state with work too, and I wasn't sure if he'd make it.  M took me to the country bar, where I rode the mechanical bull with fuzzy socks!  We drank and partied with the DJ, bar hopped then took a few beers to the beach.  It was a long night and a rough morning.

M took me to brunch the next to cure my hangover with food and mimosas at the Marina.  That's how the day started and then we got ready for the big night.

I remember having my little black dress, and birthday sash on while I sat on the couch waiting for everyone else to finish getting ready.  There was a gut feeling R wasn't going to make it so I went straight to the Tequilla.  V, M and I were standing around the table when I yelled at our buddy S to come take a shot with us.  He walked into the kitchen with R right behind him.  My night was made with a wonderful surprise.

Another night of massive drinks and shots followed with pool and being taken home in a cop car.  I wish I was exaggerating, but I'm not.  S was a cop in the town, and he called in a favor from a buddy to take us back to M's house.  It was safe, legal and definitely fun recording videos in the back of a police car when we weren't even arrested.   I vaguely remember washing my face and changing afterwards, but that's about it.

This year, it won't be like it was then because not only with R be out of town for work, but I don't want to get a babysitter.  I want to spend it with my little family.  Now, do I plan to go out, even for an hour or so? It would be nice.  So, stay tuned for birthday updates.
